Ashley C. Smith & Eman Faisal presented their preliminary presentation on Preventing a Repeat of the Past: Ethical Considerations in Data Collection & Use in the Age of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This presentation was a critical examination of ethical proposals related to database use in forensic anthropology.

American Association of Biological Anthropologists

Thomas Delgado presented on behalf of the whole research team our poster etitled Ethical Data Collection and the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Skeletal Biology, which served as our intital "call to discussion" regarding ethics with AI use in skeletal anthropology.  This poster explored issues of AI and physical assemblages, and the pitfalls of current practices with regards to data, calling on the field to address those issues.
